USA Canoe/Kayak seeks to fill the following temporary Coaching and Staff positions for the 2008 International Slalom season.

 
World Cup Assistant Coach(es)
Dates: June 16-July 6, 2008
Competition: World Cups 1,2 & 3 in Prague, CZE, Tacen, SLO and Augsburg, GER

The Slalom World Cup Assistant Coach(es) will assist USACK staff coaches in the planning, monitoring and execution of the World Cup teams program and supporting the established performance targets. The role will concentrate on supporting the efforts of the Head Coach and Canoe Coach and will be responsible for leading subgroups of athletes as assigned by staff coaches. Assistant Coach(es) will be capable of taking a group of athletes and following the coaching plan as outlined by the staff coaches and will encourage an atmosphere of learning and camaraderie. Assistant Coach(es) will coordinate with the USACK staff with final preparation for the scheduled competitions. Must be familiar
with USACK and ICF competition rules. Must be a minimum of 25 years of age, have a valid passport and drivers license and pass a USACK background check. This is a non-salaried position with expenses covered. Apply via email to Chris Hipgrave (hipgrave@usack.org) before February 29, 2008
 

Pre-Worlds Coach and Coaching Assistants
Dates: July 6-July 14, 2008
Competition: Pre-World Championships, Seu, ESP

The Pre-Worlds Coach will plan, monitor and execute a performance based program for the USACK athletes attending the Pre-World Championships. The Coach and assistants will be responsible for leading athletes thru day to day preparations and will be capable of taking a group of athletes and following the  coaching plan while encouraging an atmosphere of learning and camaraderie. Coach will coordinate with the USACK staff with final preparation for the scheduled competition. Must be familiar with USACK and ICF competition rules. Position will be supported by a Team Leader. Must be a minimum of 25 years of age, have a valid passport and drivers license and pass a USACK background check. These are non-salaried positions with minimal or no expenses covered. Chris Vadala, Chair of the USOC Team Selection Working Group (TSWG) has approved USA Canoe/Kayak's Slalom Staff (Additional Officials) Selection Procedures for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
